It's Fall Ya'll!
By:

Well,
as I sit here on Monday night listening to the wind howl and
the rain coming down in sheets, I can not wait for the cooler
weather that is promised to be close behind. I have mentioned
on numerous occasions just how much I love the fall season.
Not only is it absolutely beautiful with all of the ornages,
reds, yellows, and browns; but it is such a "homey" time of
year.
I suppose with Halloween now behind us, it is on to Thanksgiving.
Each year, I look forward to Thanksgiving for so many reasons.
It does happen to be the one holiday that I can cook for and
actually have everything turn out like it should. Well, except
for that time that my sister Kelli added a cup of butter to the
pecan pie instead of 1/4 cup. Needless to say, it was great to
eat with a spoon and cool whip.
All that said to say, decorating for Thanksgiving can be a lot
of fun. If you have already decorated for Halloween then you
should have a good foundation. Keep any silk leaves, pumpkins
and gourds out that you may have already used. I always mix all
my fall decor, then all I have to do after Halloween is pull
out all the spooky stuff, and voila!, I have some nice Thanksgiving
decor ready to go. I do have a few items specifically for Thanksgiving
though, that I then add in. So there you have it, one other reason
to love the fall, it is the one time of year that you are having
to completely change out everything to stay current with the
holidays.
If you are looking for a few new ideas to spruce up the table,
try this: using 3 gourds or pumpkins in various sizes, make a
pumpkin topiary. It is simple, just take your pumpkins, stacking
them from bottom to top with the largest on the bottom. You can
help secure them together with skewers. After having them stacked
together, place them in the center of your Thanksgiving table,
add some fall leaves and maybe some gooseberries or bittersweet.
With a nice fall table cloth, this will really add some charm
to your table.
So now that you have some new ideas, enjoy. Enjoy the decorating,
enjoy the weather, enjoy this time of year. It truly is one more
thing to be thankful for. Until next time... Happy Decorating.
